When I was living in a bustling world capital, going to concerts and seeing friends every night, the music I wrote was often calm and reflective. I didn’t notice that until I moved back to the sleepy little town I grew up in and wrote these fifty-nine-and-a-half seconds of being kicked in the face. The title is taken from the opening rhythmic motif.
