About On The Beach

I wrote On The Beach, a sort of prelude for guitar, while gazing at my print of Picasso’s painting of the same name. It’s totally unmeasured, which was a first for me. In fact, nothing is specified for the player except the order of pitches. The above recording, by Camilo Verga, is one interpretation of many possible.

There’s a way that I play it, but I’m very curious to hear what other guitarists come up with, and what sorts of pitch collections they will create by using different durations, dynamics, articulations, and decays.
